LX: Super Bowl Recap

It's been a while since the Super Bowl, which took place on Feb. 8, 2026, but the day is still being talked about by many. Fans either stayed at home, watching onscreen, or dressed in team merchandise and attended the Super Bowl supporting their team in person. Regardless, both were able to witness the outcome of the Seattle Seahawks vs. the New England Patriots game. It was hosted in Levi’s Stadium, the home soil of the 49ers. After their triumphant gameplays, the reigning champions of the Superbowl were the Seattle Seahawks, leading with a score of 29-13. Despite the excitement of many fans rooting for their favorite team, the New England Patriots were met with an overwhelming loss by the end of the game.

Looking back on the Super Bowl, the impact of the Seattle Seahawks gameplay makes them big contenders for the next football season. With a strong offense from the Seattle Seahawks, the New England Patriots would need to take some time to reflect and get back stronger for the next season.

The Seattle Seahawks secured their second win since 2014. While the New England Patriots weren’t able to score till the last 13 minutes of the fourth quarter, the Seattle Seahawks dominated the whole game. Star player Drake Maye was faced with heavy criticism from disappointed fans on his performance as the star quarterback, despite having many opportunities to tackle and fumbled from making a comeback.

During the half time show, Bad Bunny put on a memorable performance commemorating his Puerto Rican Roots with songs played like “NUEVAyoL”, “El Apagón”, “CAFé CON RON Ron”, “DtMf”, and “LO QUE PASO A HAWAII”. Many found the real-life wedding ceremony and the inclusion of a younger version of him to be wholesome and heartfelt, honoring his latest Grammy win. There were multiple guest celebrities in attendance at the halftime show, with Lady Gaga’s rendition of “Die With a Smile”, Ricky Martin’s surprise appearance, and other celebrities in attendance like Cardi B and Jessica Alba.

While many Patriots fans are disappointed from a huge loss despite how far they came this season, the Super Bowl made way for a historic moment for representation of the larger Latino community and celebrated pride in Puerto Rican culture.
