Ayra Govil is a Senior and this is her third year in Journalism. She has been enamored with writing since she was a little girl and loves reading short stories. In her free time she's usually trying new restaurants and hanging out with her friends! She has loved being part of journalism community and is excited to keep writing this year.

Editor-in-Chief

Wren Nakamura is a junior in her second year of Journalism! As one of the Editors-in-Chief, she is elated to serve a larger role on the Crown and Shield this year. Her favorite articles to write are in the Opinion and Social Justice sections; however, she will happily word dump about any topic imaginable. Outside of writing, she enjoys doodling, making playlists, birdwatching, and going on long walks!

Karley Steele is a senior and is excited to be co-Editor-in-Chief this year! This is her third year writing for the Crown and Shield, and she’s excited to continue her work in the Journalism class. Outside of class, she’s usually working on hair and makeup for ND theatre, singing, or baking sweet treats. She absolutely loves writing and is delighted to be a part of the newspaper for the ND community!

Addison Nguyen is a junior at Notre Dame, and this is her second year writing for the Crown and Shield! She loves analyzing popular media and writing essays about whatever topic sparks her current interest. Outside of writing, she loves dancing, listening to music, and curling up with a good book.

Cierra Huynh is a junior and will be entering her first year of journalism! She is excited to hone her writing skills this year and explore a diverse range of topics. Outside the classroom, she enjoys playing volleyball, trying different foods, and traveling to new places.

Kaelah Rangel Moreno is a sophomore in her first year with ND Journalism. She enjoys writing about current events, worldwide issues, and stories that highlight different perspectives. Outside of journalism, she enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, and exploring her interests in law and psychology. She is excited to be part of the Crown & Shield and looks forward to growing as a writer and journalist this year.

Claire Tran is a senior who is in her second year of journalism. She's looking forward to expressing her creativity through her articles, especially about the arts and entertainment and social justice issues. Outside of journalism, she enjoys cooking, listening to music, and walks in nature.

Isabel Seagrim is a sophomore and this is her first year in journalism. Outside of school shes loves playing volleyball, hanging out with her friends, and traveling. Additionally in her free time she loves watching movies and franchises like Dune,Interstellar, and Empire of the Sun. She is very excited to bring new and fresh perspectives and articles to journalism this year.

Caroline Herrick is a sophomore this is her first year in journalism aside from writing she plays lacrosse and just started tennis this year. She enjoys writing about topics like pop culture and upcoming events in the world. During her free time Caroline loves watching movies and spending time with friends.

Charlette Gonzalez is a Sophomore, and this is her first year in Journalism. Outside of school she dances in her mom's company and enjoy's playing the drums. She is very excited to be apart of Crown and Shield this year!

A sophmore at ND, Mattie Chukwudebe likes to introduce people to odd topics that aren't usually encountered in everyday life. She has enjoyed writing and reading novels since being small and is excited to adapt her love of writing fiction to journalism. She hopes to learn and experience as many art forms as possible before dying. In her free time, Chukwudebe loves to play sports, guitar, and do baking.

Neal Antonio is a sophomore in his first year with the ND Journalism crew. He has always been interested in speaking about controversial topics that others have a lot to say about, especially those related to films. Outside of journalism, he loves to write poems, watch anime and films, and learn new things. Currently, he is dedicated to learning a new language and finish watching his favorite anime, Naruto, for the 5th time! He is thrilled to be part of the journalism community and can't wait to learn more about everything and everyone.
