Postponed Boxbusters

Since we’re all staying at home, almost everyone’s hanging around on Netflix and watching movies with their families. However, many people are wondering when new, anticipated movies are going to be released. As cinema sales dwindle and movie theaters close down, Universal Studios, Disney, and other production companies are postponing the release dates of their next movies.

Wonder Woman 1984

Wonder Woman 1984 is the sequel to the original Wonder Woman, released in 2017. The new villain is the Cheetah who has superstrength and agility. Wonder Woman (2017) ended with Steve’s death, but in the trailers, it appears that he’s back years later. Many people are wondering how Steve is still alive, but it seems fans won’t be able to find out the answers until the postponed release date, June 5.

Mulan

Almost everyone has been excited for the live action remake of Disney’s Mulan. However, originally set to be released March 27, the date has now been pushed to July 24th. The movie had previously received backlash for their decision on removing Mushu and Li Shang from the new live action remake. The directors had justified this choice by saying that they wanted Mulan to be a strong female protagonist with no love interest, who’s self motivated and ambitious.

Black Widow

Black Widow is Marvel’s first film centered around Natasha Romanova, and is the 24th film in the MCU. Black Widow is going to be about her life before becoming an Avenger and confronting her dark past when she used to be a spy. Marvel fans can’t wait for the release of Black Widow’s first film since her debut in 2010’s Iron Man. But they’ll have to wait a little bit longer (until November 6) to see her in action.

Hope everyone’s staying home and finding ways to entertain themselves! But for now, we’ll just have to sit tight and wait a few months for these long-awaited movies to enter theaters.
