A Night of Anticipation: Homecoming 2025

As November approaches, Notre Dame’s campus is filled to the brim with energy! Such excitement could only mean one thing: Homecoming season is finally here!

This year’s chosen theme, “Night at the Bayou,” had previously been a top contender for last year’s prom when it ultimately lost to “At Last I See the Light.” “Night in the Bayou” pays tribute to Disney’s 2009 film, “Princess and the Frog,” set in the 1920’s Jazz Age New Orleans.

The Homecoming dance also serves as a fundraiser for Funding the Future, an important tuition assistance resource for future Notre Dame students where each class competes to fundraise the most money for the next incoming class. Outside of direct donations, classes raise funds by buying raffle tickets, participating in boba sales, purchasing Homecoming shirts, and buying dance tickets. All classes have a $3,000 goal for each year, so don’t forget to stay involved and contribute to your class’s fund!

A major shift from previous years, Homecoming week will be kicked-off by the dance, ending with the Homecoming game on Nov. 14. During the game, the 2029 Leopards and 2028 Sharks will have a dynamic dodgeball duel, followed by a fiery flag football face-off between the 2027 Ravens and the 2026 Stingrays. With each class training hard for the game, you don’t want to miss their epic fight for first place! The game is also where the raffle winners will be drawn so buy your tickets now for a chance to win some legendary prizes!

Homecoming week is also the time to show off your creativity! Each day, during Homecoming week, students also get the opportunity to dress up following a variety of themes from beach day to class spirit, a refreshing shift from the everyday uniform. So even if you aren’t attending the dance, make sure to express your style during each dress-up day!

“Night in the Bayou” will certainly be a Homecoming to remember! Buy your Homecoming tickets before they close on Nov 7. at 8 a.m. and cheer on your classmates during the Homecoming game!
