Upcoming Movies For Summer Vacation

Summer break is approaching and you’ll have a lot of free time on your hands. You could go to an arcade with your friends, eat at a restaurant with your family, or even head to your local theater and watch any of the movies that are releasing this summer. Here are a few movie options:

Toy Story 5

You thought that this series was over, but it’s revived once again. The story brings forth a new enemy, an iPad named Lilypad, voiced by Greta Lee. She takes Bonnie’s, voiced by Scarlett Spears, attention away from the toys, leaving them distressed. Woody, voiced by Tom Hanks once again, is called in and they all work together to regain their place. This comes out on June 19, so get ready to continue the adventures of your favorite toys once again.

Supergirl

Everyone knows Superman and his story, but some remember his cousin, Kara Zor-El. This movie shows her origin before making her way to Earth. Kara, played by Milly Alcock, will be portrayed in a darker light as the movie centers on her trauma, which is caused by seeing Krypton die, and how she overcomes it. It comes out on June 26, so head to the theaters to witness Kara’s growth before joining Earth alongside Superman.

Moana: Live Action

Following the era of Disney live-action remakes, Moana joins the line of releases. The story follows Moana, played by Catherine Laga’aia, as she sets out to sea to find the cure for the darkness that’s infecting the environment. She finds the demigod Maui, played by Dwyane Johnson, and the two work together to return the heart of Te Fiti. It’s stated to come out on July 10, so grab your friends and watch the remaking of your childhood.

The Odyssey

If you were a fan of the book, then you’ll love the movie. With Matt Damon playing Odeyssus, the movie follows him as he fights in the Trojan War and tries to get back to his family, Penelope and Telechamus, who will be played by Anne Hathaway and Tom Holland respectively. It’s releasing on July 17, so join your fellow Greek literature enthusiasts and enjoy the show.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day

The last movie left us with questions, but the new one should put you at ease. Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland, will be trying to adapt to his new life where no one remembers who he is, but as his body mutants and a villain rises, he has to learn how to save his friends and even makes a new ally in order to protect everyone. It comes out on July 31, so get ready to see the new beginning.
