On Feb. 23, 2024, Olivia Rodrigo took the stage in Palm Springs, California, kicking off the highly anticipated “GUTS” world tour. Fans of all ages dressed up in their gutsiest outfits to see the opening night.
Rodrigo appeared on stage wearing a glittery slipper crop top and skirt set, under fishnet tights. She opened the show with “bad idea right?”, a single from her album GUTS. Then, she transitioned to the iconic “ballad of a homeschooled girl.” She went on to sing the Grammy-nominated lead single from the album, “vampire.” Following the hits from her new album, she sang “traitor,” from her debut album SOUR. Afterward, she sang her iconic debut single “drivers license” on the piano. At the piano, she sang “teenage dream.”, supported by videos from her childhood showing on the big screen.
Rodrigo then appeared in a black bralette with matching shorts and fishnets. She sang “pretty isn’t pretty” and “love is embarrassing,” featuring unique choreography that has already blown up on TikTok.
Then, Rodrigo wore a sheer, bejeweled dress above her outfit to sing “making the bed,” “logical,” and “enough for you” sitting on a hanging crescent moon prop, above the entire crowd.
Rodrigo went on to sing “lacy” and as she sang “jealousy, jealousy”, she also walked around the pit to meet fans. She sang more hits from SOUR, such as “happier,” “favorite crime,” “the grude” and the iconic single from SOUR, “deja vu.”
Then, she unveiled a red dress in which she sang “brutal”, and an unreleased song “obsessed”, stunning the crown. She then went on to sing“all american b*tch”. Rodrigo closed the show with a white tank top, glittery silver shorts, and tights, while singing “good 4 u”, and “get him back!”, where she momentarily replaced her microphone with a megaphone to sing it.
Ahead of taking the stage, Rodrigo announced that the amount of the proceeds would be donated to her charity, Fund 4 Good, fighting for women’s rights. It centers around preventing gender-based violence, protecting reproductive rights, and encouraging girls' education.
The beginning of the GUTS World Tour marks a huge milestone in Rodrigo’s already large career. During the SOUR Tour, Rodrigo performed in theaters and concert halls, but during the GUTS Tour, she’s playing in arenas. Although she only has two albums out, Olivia Rodrigo is an incredibly talented singer, songwriter, and performer.
