Seniors Back on Campus

After a year and a half of online school with minimal human interaction, the senior class is ecstatic to be back on campus. Although the class of ‘22 had the option to partake in hybrid learning, not every student had the opportunity to be a part of it. With assemblies, big little sister gatherings, and mixers being virtual, many students missed out the energetic atmosphere that they would experience in person. But, with the start of the brand new school year with everyone being back on campus, seniors can finally be together as one with the rest of ND.

One of the most exciting things that the seniors get to do is be together as a class again! Abigail Mirador ‘22 says, “Personally, I enjoy learning in person compared to online because first off, it is easier to connect and interact with your teachers and classmates. It is less awkward and you talk more as there is no longer a camera-off option.” Sophia Reyes ‘22 is excited to “spend this last year with all my closest friends by strengthening our bonds and growing closer together.” In addition, Kaili M ‘22 exclaims, “While schoolwork itself is difficult, it has been so great seeing all of my friends and being able to feel somewhat ‘normal’ again. I am looking forward to all of the senior related activities we’ll do throughout this year like senior sunrise and of course spirit week. I can not wait to make new memories with everyone and make up for lost time!” As this is the final year for the seniors, many are savoring every moment by attending school events or even grabbing food or drinks downtown.

Sophia Reyes ‘22 mentions how she “enjoys being back in a routine” which has helped with the workload with homework and college applications. Being back on campus not only allows there to be a more structured day to get things done in a timely manner, but Sophia talks about how she knows that she is surrounded by other seniors, so “everyone is in the same boat so it makes her feel better knowing that she has people to lean on and support one another.”

Excited is an understatement to explain how the Raptors feel about their final year. To some it up, maybe ask them how they feel? We feel good, oh we feel so good! AH AH AH!
