Chocolate Chunk Sea Salt Cookie Recipe

These delectable cookies are a perfect treat! Filled with chocolate and a touch of salt: a perfect blend of flavors that melts in your mouth. 

Ingredients: 

2 ½ sticks butter, softened 

1 ½ cups brown sugar 

3 large eggs 

1 ½ tsp vanilla extract 

3 cups all-purpose flour, sifted 

1 ½ tsp baking soda 

½ tsp salt plus extra to pinch on top

6 oz semi-sweet or bitter-sweet chocolate bars (or a mix of both) chopped

Instructions: 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350℉ 
  2. Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy 

  1. Add eggs and vanilla to the creamed butter and sugar mixture 
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and ½ tsp salt 

  1. Incorporate the flour mixture into the creamed mixture using a spatula 
    1. Note: The spatula causes the flour to release less yeast, making the cookies moister    
    2. Incorporate the flour mixture in 3 parts, incorporating completely between each addition 

  1. Add chopped chocolate to dough 

  1. Form the dough into balls, about 2 tbsp dough per ball, and place on a parchment paper-lined baking tray 

  1. Bake the cookies for 5 minutes, then flip the baking tray and bake for another 3 minutes 
  2. Sprinkle with salt on top and bake for an additional minute and a half 
  3. Enjoy!
