Burnt Basque Cheesecake -- Four Ingredient Masterpiece

With limited supplies from the grocery store, and the entire nation beginning their hobby of baking during quarantine, this recipe consists of four ingredients and is an easy treat to whip to to impress your friends and family. This basque cheesecake mimics the classic New-York style cheesecake, without the press-in cookie crust. The original recipe crafted by chef Santiago Rivera of La Viña in Spain, this creamy cheesecake with a caramelized top will easily melt your heart as well.

INGREDIENTS:

11 oz of cream cheese

⅓ cup of sugar

2 eggs

1 cup of heavy cream

PREP:

Heat your oven to approximately 450º F.

Use a large piece of parchment paper to cover all sides of the cake pan. The paper should be hanging off the sides of the pan. It should not fit perfectly, for it is part of the design.

STEP 1:

Massage the 11oz  cream cheese while it is still in the packet to make it easier to cream. Place the cream cheese in the bowl, and with a mixing utensil smush the cream cheese until it has a smooth texture.

STEP 2:

Next sprinkle in ⅓ of the sugar into your creamed

cheese, and mix in well.

STEP THREE:

Beat two eggs in a bowl until completely blended, then pour it with the remaining mixture. The consistency of the mixture should be somewhat watery at this point.

STEP FOUR:

Finally, measure out 1 cup of heavy cream

STEP FIVE:

add to the remaining mixture.

STEP SIX:

Now pour your batter into the lined baking pan and pop it into the oven for around 20-30 minutes, or until baked.

Voila! Enjoy the cake either hot out of the oven, or chilled with your friends and family.
