Comes Back Around

With the beginning of a new decade, old trends and technology make a comeback. This 2020, try taking yourself back to another decade with iconic technologies and trends reboot.  The 1920s: Instant CamerasWhile these weren’t on the market until the 40s, this fun camera was invented in the 20s. While the camera has evolved in so many different ways, the original fun and joy that this camera brought to people are still present to this day. There are so many different models on the market today, so hit the stores and go find this camera for your next party, family gathering, or for whenever you and your friends hang out.   The 1940s: JukeboxThe modern-day Jukebox that people are so familiar with came around in the 40s. They were so popular that ⅔ of all American records were being produced for juke. While getting a full-sized jukebox would be fun, it is a bit impractical. Try smaller ones that have been rebooted as a speaker (with Bluetooth connection!), perfect for throwing yourself back to this decade.    The 1960s: Audio Cassette TapeHello to the 60s and cassettes! This marked the first time that people were able to record audio in their hands. While this has seen its fair share of comebacks in media and movies recently, consider investing in one of these gems. They are fortunately still being sold all over the country, from your local Walgreens to Urban Outfitters. They’re great for making mixtapes or just recording priceless conversations. The 1980s: Disposable CamerasIt’s hard to believe that the disposable camera was invented just 40 years ago when it seems that it was just yesterday we were bringing these cameras to science camp. While the original disposable cameras proved to be thicker and have worse photo quality, that is no longer the case with our modern-day models. Buy one from your local Walmart or CVS and plan a photoshoot day with your friends. Make sure you can get a CD copy of your pictures when you send them in to get developed so that you can have a digital copy of all your pictures (which could be Insta-worthy).  Of course, these are just some of the many different technologies that gained popularity in the 1900s. All are worth looking into, especially as we move into a new decade with new technology.
