Need a Holiday Gift? What About Essential Oils!

It’s finally the holiday season! Through reading this article, one will either be able to find out more about essential oils or get an amazing idea for a great gift to give. Either way, let this article be an inspiration to start using them in your life! Welcome to the all about essential oils guide!  Essential oils are made from parts of certain plants like leaves, herbs, barks, and rinds and can be added to vegetable oils and creams, used to rub them on one’s skin, or put them in baths or diffusers. They have amazing healing, stress-reducing, and relaxing effects and they can even be used as perfume. Essential oils come in a wide variety of scents and can even be custom made to fulfill everyone’s wants and needs.  To get started, here are a few oils that have amazing purposes:

  • Lavender, chamomile, and rose will help one keep calm

  • Tea tree and frankincense scents are known to help reduce the size of blemishes and fight inflammation

  • Rosemary, lemon, and peppermint scents are very effective at fighting digestion if inhaled through the nose

Most essential oils come in bottles that have a dropper so that one can easily drop the oils. Let it be known that some oils can be quite strong unless diluted with other liquids or used in small doses. For this reason, essential oils work super well in baths, room sprays, and diffusers. (Tip: for baths, the smell of the essential oils will remain on your body as well as in the aroma of your bathroom for a while, even up to a couple of days depending on how many drops you use!). 10-15 drops of essential oils in water should do the trick for most baths, self-made room sprays, and diffusers. If one would like to learn more about what diffusers are, how they work, and where to buy one, this article is very helpful! Avoid getting essential oils in eyes or putting them on irritated skin or sensitive areas and know that essential oils are not to be consumed despite how tempting it may be! To create the perfect holiday gift, a suggestion would be to purchase some of the persons’ favorite scents or some holiday-inspired ones such as cinnamon, ginger, vanilla, clove, and peppermint! It would also be cute to purchase a diffuser, an unscented cream, or a spray bottle so that they can create their own custom self-care routine with their favorite scents.
