Rockin’ Ladies: Female Musicians to Look Out For

Making music just as prevalent as their male counterparts, these pop, alternative, and punk females are making tunes that aren’t being listened to enough. Though they should not be seen as any different from the men in their fields, their lack of representation within the mainstream music scene gives light to a problem that must be faced by music listeners; when audiences fail to listen to and support these female artists, it is harder for future women to also break into the scene. In recent years, however, this problem has definitely taken a big step in the right direction. With smaller record labels signing and promoting these female artists, big name corporations have also turned their attention towards more women in the music scene. If you, as music listeners and the audience for these musicians, would like to support some of the more unknown women in the music scene, check these musicians out!For those interested in alternative music,

  • The Aces
    • Hailing all the way from Provo, Utah, The Aces consist of sisters Alisa and Cristal Ramirez acting as drummer and front woman, and McKenna Petty and Katie Henderson as bassist and lead guitarist.
