Harriet - November 1st

This biographical film is about the slave-turned-abolitionist Harriet Tubman, portrayed by Cynthia Erivo. Before being released in the United States, the film was given mixed reviews by critics, many stating that the film does not give a proper tribute to Tubman. However, the importance of the story and the performance of the lead are praised, and Notre Dame students may especially be inspired by Tubman’s journey.

Frozen 2 - November 22nd

Frozen 2 is the sequel of Disney’s big 2013 hit Frozen. The story, starring the voices of Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, and Jonathan Groff, will feature a journey in search of answers about the Ice Queen’s powers. Although the film seems to be aimed for a younger audience, the animation and art have attracted many people’s interest.

Jumanji: The Next Level - December 13th

The sequel to 2017’s remake of Jumanji will be hitting theaters mid-December. The early trailers have already shown that similar to the first movie, the sequel will mainly focus on action, and comedy. Starring several fan-favorite actors like Jack Black, Karen Gillan, and Danny Devito, this movie is one to look out for.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker - December 20th

The concluding movie of the Skywalker saga will be released near Christmas time. The popular series will likely bring in many young viewers, including several students from Notre Dame.
