Going Out Into Nature To Find Yourself

Beyond the populated cities, crowded streets, and loud restaurants, the wild life lays behind the trees, while we lay behind the screens of computers that engulf our vision, mind, wellbeing, and emotions. Though watching life through a screen can be quite enjoyable, just opening a window or taking a step outside and smelling the fresh air can be enchanting. The smallest things like taking a hike, walking your dog, sitting outside, going swimming in a lake or ocean, or taking a bike ride can all improve the quality of life.

Some forget that nurturing and taking care of yourself should be one of the most important things in your life. While there are other things in life that require an excess amount of work, you are the one working, and if you don’t nurture yourself then your work and lifestyle can decline. Every person has their own way of taking care of themselves, whether it’s having a full reset day, meditating, journaling, cleaning, reading, or backpacking pure nature to connect with the earth.

For instance, heading into the woods with the intention of exploring nature by backpacking, with your life basically strapped onto you, can be a bit scary, but at the same time can be quite relieving. It’s exciting knowing that for a period of time, a connection with yourself and the earth can be made. Being able to take action and choose the way you want to live shows strength. Oftentimes, living based off of someone else’s life path can be incredibly stressful, so discovering your primary values while connecting with nature can serve as a welcome relief.

Nature can change the way you look at life and how you perceive it. It can help us find our inner self and reduce stress as well as any mental blocks. Being in a natural environment promotes how you can envision yourself and how the actions you make can change not only yourself, but others around you. Studies have shown that just sitting in nature for ten minutes can reduce stress and mental anxiety. Someone's stress can be reduced by just forgetting everything and focusing on one's connection with the earth, and the others we encounter on a daily basis.

Being in nature connects you to your inner self and the rest of the world, which, in the end, brings clarity. Balancing your mental health, stress, and anxiety at the same time is difficult, so being able to just step outside and feel at peace can always be a blissful reprieve from daily life.

I love to post what I'm up to and what I’m reading on my Instagram page while also supporting small businesses, advocating for rights, and spreading important information as well on there. I’m always traveling and looking for new things to do that involve getting outdoors.
