It seems like all of us have been counting down the days until spring break. What are ND’s plans for this long-awaited break?

Spring break is a fantastic opportunity to read books, watch movies and TV shows, listen to music, or consume any other intriguing content. With the academic workload cranking up in Semester Two, we often fall behind on our binge-watch sessions, which Maya Schechtman ‘25 plans to make up for — “I’ll be catching up on any shows I missed during the busy weeks before break.” Students also have specific recommendations they cannot wait to dive into. June McMahon ‘25 is looking forward to reading “The Tempest of Tea” by Hafsah Faizal and “The Wraith and the Dawn” by Renée Ahdieh, and Rose Talla ‘24 is excited to watch the F1 Suzuka Grand Prix. Use spring break as a time to relax and enjoy any books, movies, TV shows, YouTube videos, or social media you’ve been eyeing for the past few weeks. If you are ever in need of any suggestions, check out the ones mentioned above!

With summer break being just a few months away, spring break is also an incredible time to travel and preview your vacation. After a cold and rainy winter, some students are opting to take advantage of the gorgeous weather. Asami Harte ‘24 remarks, “I'm traveling to Hawaii with my family! I'm super excited because I haven’t been to Hawaii in such a long time. I'm really looking forward to snorkeling and eating poke bowls!” Maya ‘25 comments, “I’m traveling to San Diego to see my grandparents, and I’m most excited to catch up with family. I will be going to the beach and visiting some colleges. I’m looking forward to trying an amazing burger place near there!” While some will be basking in rays of sunshine, others will be traveling to chillier destinations. Josephine Crawford ‘26 says, “I will be traveling to Winnipeg, Canada. I’m spending the week celebrating Easter with my stepmom and stepsisters.” Kiera Watson ‘27 mentions, “I'm going to the snow — probably Tahoe. This is going to be a super fun trip because my little cousin just learned how to ski! I'm looking forward to hanging out with my family and watching some fun cheesy comedy with popcorn and candy.” If you aren’t going on a vacation, you can still have just as much fun as a staycation. June ‘27 plans on exploring the Bay Area“I’m going to San Francisco with my mom and grandma! We’re getting tea, going to a museum, and going to Chinatown. There, we’re going to get dim sum. I really want to go to some fancy bakeries and fun places in Chinatown.” Whether you are flying out or staying at home, be sure to rest and spend some time doing what you love with the people you love.

ND, it sounds like you have some very entertaining plans lined up. Enjoy your spring break — you deserve it!
