Rels B rise to fame
Rels B, also known as Daniel Heridia Vidal, had his first concert in front of 300 people in the city of Mexico. This year, he performed in front of 60,000 people in that same city, where everything first started.
Born in the Spanish island of Mallorca, his love for music began at the age of 11 when he first started writing his own music. At the age of 14, influenced by hip/ hop artists, he began to create his own beats. This only further boosted his passion in pursuing a future within the music industry. For a while, he stuck to only producing, but in 2014, he collaborated with producers Itchy and Buco. Shortly after, he released his EP, Change or Die.
It was not until the age of 18 when he started releasing his music. At first he gained traction locally but with the help of social media, his music began to spread further nationally and even internationally, all around the world. His first full-length album, Player Hater, released in 2015, along with the help of his song, Mary Jane in 2015, allowed his career to grow immensely and gain worldwide recognition. He had started out being the“local artist” but has now made it to be a worldwide sensation. His fusion of R&B and hip-hop has shown to be very popular within Latin American countries. Songs like A Mi have over 516,000,000 streams on spotify, which talks about his intense love for the woman of his dreams. In addition, Lo Que Hay X Aqui reached 143,000,000 streams touching on the subject of losing the woman who made him feel complete and at home. Many of his songs have been great hits. His relatable lyrics have made it easy for the artist to reel in new listeners. His mix of both pop and hip- hop songs along with the different themes touched on within his music are some of the factors as to why he is able to appeal to such a wide amount of listeners.
Reels B went from a pre-teen in his room producing music, not knowing if this was something that would ever go anywhere, to now selling out shows and being heard worldwide. At 30 years old he has accomplished so much, and still has many more goals to reach.
