Quick and Easy Summer Recipes

As summer approaches, we not only need something to do, but something sweet to snack on! Summer recipes are a great way to get creative and snack on something delicious! Listed below are just a few fun recipes to try out for the summer!

S'mores Krispie Treats 

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons of butter (and a little more for buttering the pan)

  • 1 (12 oz.) package of mini marshmallows

  • 7 cups of Golden Grahams cereal

  • 3 Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bars (broken in small pieces)

Instructions:

  1. Grease a 9” by 13” pan with butter. Next, in a large pot over medium-low heat, melt the butter. Then, melt all the marshmallows except 1 cup and stir until combined and melted.

  2. Once the marshmallows are melted, remove from the heat and stir in the cereal until everything is evenly coated. Next, press into a pan and top everything with chocolate pieces of the Hershey bar and the last bit of the mini marshmallows. 

  3. Next, turn on your broiler and cook the markshmallowes until they are evenly toasted for about 2 minutes. 

  4. Once everything is toasted, set aside for about 30 minutes before devouring! Enjoy!

Peach Crumble 

Ingredients:

For the Peaches

  • 6 large sliced peaches

  • ¼ cup of granulated sugar

  • The juice of ½ lemon

  • ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon

  • ½ teaspoon of ground ginger

  • A pinch of salt

For the Topping

  • 1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup of packed brown sugar

  • ½ teaspoon of salt

  • ¼ teaspoon of ground cinnamon

  • ½ cup or 1 stick of melted butter

  • Vanilla ice cream

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. 

  2. Prepare the peaches by combining peaches, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, ginger, and salt in a big bowl.

  3. To prepare the topping, combine flour, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon together in a bowl. Then, pour the melted butter and combine until the mixture turns into a crumble.

  4. Next, bake your crumble until the top is golden brown! This should take roughly about 45-50 minutes.

  5. Finally, let the crumble cool off before serving it with vanilla ice cream! Enjoy!

Banana Cream Pie in a Jar

Ingredients:

  • 1 packet of vanilla pudding mix

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 3 cups of crushed mini Nilla Wafers (save a couple to garnish with)

  • 3 sliced bananas

  • Whipped cream

Instructions:

  1. To prepare the pudding, combine the mix with milk. Set aside for 5 minutes. For the best results, transfer the pudding to a piping bag.

  2. With the mason jars, alternately layer the crushed wafers, pudding, and banana until it reaches to the top of each jar.

  3. Finally, top with whipped cream and wafers. Enjoy!
